Back Again...Growing PAINS!

Wow, to think that I began this blog in the middle of my transition of moving to California, and to now BE in California doing what God placed on our hearts to do is awe-inspiring.

Any-who,

I want to talk to you a little about growing pains.

I remember in my junior high days, I had a growth spurt. I didn't have the chance to take my height, but boy did I feel it.

I would remember on certain weekends going from my mothers home to my aunts home along with my cousins and my siblings. As I sat in the back of their Honda Prelude, tears would be flowing down my eyes, due to the stinging, throbbing, and sharp pains I would  feel in my knees.

That experience is much like the growing that I have been doing lately.

As I have been growing over the past two years as a senior pastor, I have shed MANY tears. Publicly and privately due to the PAIN of growth.

Im not sure where you are in your life today concerning your relationship with God, attendance with a local church, or fellowship with other believers, but, I must say being a pastor is not for the faint of heart.

Ive had once close friends distance themselves, mentors walk away, unlikely people join the church, our family, had many triumphs, a lot of tragedies, a good size of misunderstandings, a lot of people on a Sunday, just a few people on a Sunday, people praise your name and in the same breath attempt to destroy you. Ive though plenty of times that maybe I wasn't cut out for this, feeling like a piece of me was broken, and it was, it was/is my heart.

I love people with all of my heart, I believe that we are Gods' BEST creation. He made us intentionally, purposefully, and with a sense of mastery that is second to none. It pains me to see people go through so much, and so much is coming at you that you feel helpless at times.

This is a hard place, leading people.

But nonetheless, on the flip side, there is the fulfillment of knowing that you are in God's will, hoping, desiring, praying that His will be done in The Earth; sometimes in the very people's lives who all of a sudden don't like you.

Im not one to complain, or vent rather on SM, so please don't take it as such.

Im just saying, this responsibility is HUGE...Its a lot...and I must constantly remind myself that I am only an UNDER-shepherd of the CHIEF Shepard, Jesus. He will build it like He desires, My job is to stay faithful, love The Word, Spend time with God, Love the people, equip the people, and push the people into the destiny God has for them, and just...keep...GROWING!

Just a little raw piece of my heart.

Getting In Gear for the NEW YEAR!

We have roughly 45 more days until you never write 2013 on the documents you sign again...

Well...that is if your unlike me who keeps writing the previous year's numbers well into the next and have to end up scribbling it out.

As we get closer to another year, there is always two emotions that emerge; great joy for a new beginning and angst because of what was not accomplished in rapidly disappearing year

Whether you're feeling a little overwhelmed because your scale is still reading the same lbs as January 1 of this year, or Great excitement about the possibilities and new beginnings of a new year, I'd like to give you some things that you can do to prepare for a dynamic 2014.

1. Review

The saying, " hindsight is 20/20" is appropriate in this first stage because you will have to look back at where you've been this year, what you accomplished, what you didn't accomplish, what you wish you did, and what still remains undone in order to get ready to enter this new year.

This review gives you honest feedback on the things you may have procrastinated on, miscalculated, and things that you did right to give you a good framework of what is necessary on 2014 of you're going to reach your goals.

Looking back at my year, there are plenty of points that I miscalculated, misinterpreted, under delivered, and overserved. If I be honest with myself, there are some things that I went "autopilot" on and there were some things that I took on FULL FORCE.

Like me, You must take the time to give yourself a honest review to avoid repeating the same bad habits to ensure that you build on the strengths and opportunities you have in 2014.

2. Prioritize

What is important? What is not important? An honest review should've given you the alot of the things that you know you need to do more of and what you need to lay to rest.

Prioritizing time for God, Family, Health, Rest, and exploration of new opportunities in the new year will be paramount as you take on a new mindset to begin the new year strong.

Many of my mentors have told me "begin with the end in mind". Which is an indication that if I want to end strong, I must begin prioritizing my priorities so that I cross the finish line stronger than I started!

3. Focus on your Strengths not Weakness

"Whatever you FOCUS on EXPANDS"-David Imonitie

Many people make the horrible mistake of focusing more on their weaknesses and not their strengths. And like a virus in a petri dish, their weaknesses begin to expand and ultimately eat away at the possibility of building on their strengths.

When you focus on your strengths and not yor weaknesses you are letting your opposition know that you will stay the course to reach your goal, rather than allowing shortcomings and failures to define a new year that isn't here yet!

4. Believe

"If you can BELIEVE, ALL THINGS are possible to him that BELIEVES"- Jesus

I cannot tell you how many times I have overcome the odds because I believed! This is going to be essential in your new year.

You have to believe regardless of what's going on around you, regardless of your circumstances, regardless of your past mistakes, you must believe!

Believe BIGGER THAN ANY FEAR in this new year!!

Teamwork makes THE DREAM work!!!!

My mom used to always say,"You're not an island to yourself, if you need help ask"

It took me some time to realize that I didn't have to do everything by myself. Needless to say, I didn't do well in group projects because I felt if I did it by myself, I would have more control over the outcome.

But this thinking was extremely off because no ONE person has ALL the answers. No matter how educated or experienced we are...we need others to help us in the accomplishment of our goal.

No one accomplished anything great without a team of individuals who brought their expertise, their perspective, and their wisdom to the table.

I would encourage you to start building a team of trusted resources around you who can offer you such things.

You'll  need a team that can critique you, correct you, and help you create this wonderful dream you have inside of you.

Ask them if they were you, how would they do it? I guarantee you will get a broader and a deeper perspective.

This is necessary because, at times, what we envision has to be tweaked to serve the masses with excellence.

I cannot tell you how many times I have ventured out on a certain way of doing things and I've come up with the formula that will work best, until I run into someone with greater insight, understanding, and expertise than I have and I end up tweaking so that I can have greater results.

This is what your team is for. They are there to help you, and get you in the right path toward your goal!!

So in your attainment of you goal in these next few weeks of 2013, determine you will gather those with more wisdom, experience, and wisdom than you and build your TEAM to make YOUR DREAM WORK!

Don't let the SILENT GIANTS stop you!!!!!

Anytime you venture to do something great, every negative and evil force will rear its ugly head to challenge you in the attainment of your goal.

Don't hate it...LOVE IT.

"Why should I do that"...you ask....

Because never in the history of time has there been a person who has attained greatness, reached their goal, or obtained the promise without opposition.

Opposition is necessary.

So you may feel a little resistance today.

Whether that be inward resistance, outward resistance, or circumstantial resistance... embrace it because it is necessary to obtain the promise.

Im reminded of the children of Israel who FINALLY reached the threshold of the promised land after years of circling around the desert.

12 Spies were sent out into the land and came back reporting it was filled with grapes the size of basketballs, plush land, space and opportunity for everyone....oh and 9- 10 foot giants who ruled the land.

2 reported "WE CAN DO IT" but the other 10 reported "We CAN'T do it...too risky"...

Isn't this scenario like this goal that you're going after?, It has the promise of great things, doors of opportunity for you to live better, look better, feel better, and do better. However, there are HUGE obstacles facing your decision to move forward and naysayers who don't see the vision you see?!

10 of the 12 of the spies reported that they "were like grasshoppers in the giants eyes".

((Umm excuse me Mr. Spy, when did you have time in the midst of your secret mission to secure you a mainstream prime time talk show and interview these giants?!  I'm assuming you didn't.))

Though the giants never spoke,I'm sure the fearful spies compared their own insecurities to the size of the giants and calculated all of that into their ability to move forward....

It's a shame huh...yea I know...

But before we scrutinize them too much...lets take a look at ourselves... Because we do it everyday.

We come to a conclusion that the people we don't want to offend will be offended by us stepping out of the "norm" for our goal. We choose to stop short of our promise for the possible negative opinion of people of whom we don't know. And we take our own insecurities and turn up the gain so loud, that we feel everyone else in The room can hear how scared, unsure, and fretful we are!

This is absurd!

Trust me when I say this, most people are so focused on their own giant that they don't have time to worry about yours.

The silent giants in our lives stop is everyday, but you have to ask yourself In This moment..

"Will I let the silent giants, mountains, or opposition stop me from entering this promise I am on the threshold of entering?"

Or are you going to resist the opposition, take a risk, and enter into the promise with a sling shot of hope and a rock of faith and TAKE THE LAND!!!!!?

Be IN IT to WIN IT!

Randy Jackson of American Idol had this saying while he was on the show
"They're  IN IT TO WIN IT"

This saying would normally accompany a contestant who just SMASHED the competition with their dynamic vocal and performance skills.

Much like Randy, I'm telling you that you have to Be IN IT to WIN IT!

Whatever you are attempting to accomplish, realize that it will take dynamic focus and sacrifice to see your goal materialize.

One of my teachers would say, "if youre not going to be serious about it, why sacrifice"

This is imperative to understand because most people follow the crowd and not their goal and people sometimes sacrifice for a goal that they are not serious about sustaining for long periods of time.

Being "IN IT to WIN IT" requires that your mind, your heart, and your actions be congruent enough for the long haul.

Whereas most people stop short of their goal and give great reasons(ahem...Excuses) why they didn't fulfill the vision.

They play the blame game and use the economy, their parents, their boyfriend, their computer, or bank account for the reason they stopped short...

But that is not you...You are in this to WIN this!!!

There is not quitting, stopping, waiting, procrastinating , incubating, or stalling.

You are on the track to REALIZING your goal.

Your mind must be focused on the end result!

Your heart must agree with your head that you will finish, and your mouth must confirm what your heart and your head are saying.

Speaking your end result is necessary to reaching your goal because the truth is that

Words Create Worlds...

So sometime today, I want you to get a vivid picture of your end result, that dream, or goal and I want you to get in front of a mirror and I want you to say this out loud;

No matter what it looks like, I will not stop!!

There are people counting on me to drop Fear and adopt Faith

God gave me this desire and Dream before I was Born.

I will, I can, I shall, I MUST reach my goal

I will finish for the greater good of everyone who is attached to my winning because I understand, when I win, they do too.

(SHOUT THIS PART)

I'm in This to win this!!!!

Moving from Fear to Faith!

I've heard many say that Fear is:

False
Evidence
Appearing
Real

Which is true in essence...

However...FEAR IS VERY REAL...

Before you throw your rocks at me for affirming fear in a way let me explain...

The fear you feel when starting a project, a business, a movement, marrying someone you barely know (by the way I don't care HOW long you've dated a person, when you marry them there is a WHOLE OTHER side that you probably haven't seen..ok..back on schedule), or when you do something GREAT...FEAR will be a VERY LARGE, HAIRY, AUDACIOUS, component in the process.

But fear, no matter how "REAL" it may be...only gets it power source from Your Belief...or Lack thereof...

You MUST CHOOSE FAITH which is simply ACTING on what you BELIEVE!

It looks fear in its slimy face and says "I'm moving FORWARD REGARDLESS of what you say or what I see...so EXCUSE ME and WATCH ME WORK!"

Fear will attempt to paralyze you  in the wake of the uncertain, but "Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen"- Hebrews 11:1

Faith sees the impossibilities, but chooses to act in rebellion to fear!

It says..."I see the circumstance but I DON'T CARE"

Faith is essential in your journey towards your goal because it lets your opponents and fear know that your not going to stop because you are uncertain, you're not going to stop because you are scared, and that you're not going to stop because you are unqualified.

You will start regardless of what the circumstances, bank account, peers, subordinates, and superiors say.

You were born to do something great, and the world is waiting for you to stop FEARING, and start FAITHING!!!!

Ps..yes..that is me Back in the day...This is what we look like when we FEAR...#HappySundayEveryone

STOP Complaining and START!!!

It happened...this morning...3:33 am...I began dreaming about writing.

I tossed.... I turned because I know that people are scrambling trying to get some things done before then end of the year, and I wanted to help in some way...

So I sat there, iPad open.... and dreaded to make the decision on what it is that I am to write...I don't want to just write something...it has to have PURPOSE.

I'm from the school of thought that you don't just SAY SOMETHING...have SOMETHING to SAY...

Truthfully, I felt so guilty that I procrastinated all year long. Being TOO BUSY to pour my heart out so you can hear it....I cannot believe that I waited so long to start and make a solid decision to START and keep going....

Fear, regret, anguish, and sadness hit me all at the same time..."what if I don't finish... What if I don't get the response that I deemed "worthy" to start blogging again...what if no one gets inspired or helped?"

It was then that I made a decision to STOP complaining about what I don't know and to START doing what I knew that I needed to do.

So I began writing at 4:06am....yes....4:06am...WHO DOES THAT?

I wrote whatever came to my head and my heart. No editing, just writing....

This is what you're going to have to do, just start where you are. You cannot control the circumstance, but you can control your actions...so START

Whether its a weightloss goal, a startup business, a ministry, or a movement...WHO CARES...just START where you are and each step and decision to keep going will take you closer to Your goal.

You can't change the past, but you can change the NOW to affect the FUTURE...JUST START!

Are you COMMITTED!?

One of my #LifeVerses

"Commit your works to the Lord , And your thoughts will be established." -Proverbs 16:3

Many times we step out in our day and think that we can do it all on our own. We think that God has no interest in our work, business, school work,  etc. And doesn't have any involvement in our daily lives outside of "spiritual"  activities.

But Proverbs 16:3 makes it clear. ... if we'll COMMIT everything to Him. .. HE'LL cause for our thoughts to be come Agreeable to His Will and our plans to Succeed!

Give it a try Before you step out of your home today, or if you've already left for the day, say "God,  I commit "_______" to you. Give me your thoughts, your purposes,  and your attitude so that I can Succeed today".

Lessons in Circumstances...

This journey that Ive been on has taught me some valuable lessons, ones that I will share with the world, and ones I know have bearing on my spirit, soul, and heart alone.

In all of our lives there are situations, relationships, circumstances, and various events that will enter into our sphere of life to teach us, grow us, stretch us, and mature us. The Events that have happened in my life over the past few months have done most if not ALL of the previous mentioned.

But what about you? Have you taken the time to learn from the things that have happened in your life, or are you still waiting to collect royalty checks from your appearance in the drama that has happened in your life?

I believe that all of us have the great opportunity to harness our experiences and turn every one of them into teaching and learning lessssons that may very well help a person get out of a situation, and move on forward with their lives. There is a reason the writer of Romans said in chapter 8 that "ALL things work together for the GOOD to them who love God, and are called according to His Purpose"....Its a Beautiful thing...

It is the Goodness, Grace, and Gift of God that He is with us when we go through situations only to make us stronger in the end...

The sole purpose of this blog is to share my life with you, in hopes that in some way or fashion you will find hope, peace, faith, and strength to begin on your journey again with the right mindset, outlook, and expectation.

Will you join me in this journey as we Run After our Destinies? Its that place that God has preordained us to live in, and broadcast our life from.  I hope that you will, and if you stop in from time to time, if the note for the day inspired you, touched you, or motivated you please leave a comment and share it with someone.

This is your Month for PHENOMENAL Success!

Balancing on The Tight Rope of Life: Prioritization

Okay, so we've locked down the Organization part of finding that balance. Now the 2nd thing we'll hash out is how to actually execute those areas!!!

This comes about in the principle of Priority! Prioritizing the various areas in your life is very key if you are going to succeed at anything!!!!

Most people can get through their day without prioritizing, but the long tern effect of it all is that there was probably some effect of frustration and confusion, and that produces procrastination because everything seems so overwhelming. But prioritizing your time and day comes in handy when pursuing balance. Because lets face it...no one wants to go through their day not accomplishing the major tasks on their list nor get to the end of their life and say "I spent all my time focusing on things that didn't really matter, I should've spent more time on the things and with the people that matter the most."

Prioritizing is a GAME CHANGER for ALL Destiny Runners! WHY Because it puts you above the MAJORITY of people who are stuck in a rut trying to figure out life, purpose, and success. You would be surprised at the amount of people who literally go throughout the day being reactive rather than proactive, meaning that they respond to the problem rather than having a pre-meditated answer to the problems that they may face...but that is a different blog...back on track...

SO..You have your Life List written down somewhere, now what you have to do is start placing them in order in the sequence of Most important to not so important. The way you qualify your priorities is a few ways, here they are:
1. How will this affect my life and my family TODAY?
2. How may people are associated with THIS particular task (10s, 50s, 100s, 1000s?)
3. When and what time do I have to get this ACCOMPLISHED?
4. If I am being graded on PRODUCTION and not just BUSYNESS..what grade would I give myself?
5. WHat is the most IMPORTANT & VITAL to my position, my business, project.

A conglomerate of things go into qualifying priorities, but these should get you thikning about what is most important. I had to qualify the importance of certain tasks to the areas of my goals within my life because if I didint, I would always push something back in efforts to find the time to get to it...but the reality is that YOU'll NEVER find the time..you have to MAKE it...and Organization & Prioritization gets you started on catching your balance on the Tight Rope of Life!

Balancing on the Tight Rope of Life: Organization

If you're anything like me, you know that sometimes the responsibilities of life can put a real strain on your free time to work on special projects that you may be inspired with from time to time, hence making it a struggle sometimes to give yourself the space and flexibility to execute successfully. I call this the tight rope because life can make you feel like you're the tightrope walker at your local circus: high expectations from customers, team members, employers, family, members etc, limited runway in many cases, and a heavy load to carry. It can get overwhelming, but the key is balance!!!!

Balance is defined by dictionary.com as "the state equilibrium and the equal distribution of weight."

SO through this week this is what we will strive to develop...a state of equilibrium throughout your areas of responsibility, influence, and projects you are working on...so lets dig in...

The first and most important key in finding balance is ORGANIZATION. Most people settle for working in "organized chaos" where everything is out of order, but it's THEIR order, so they have an understanding of where everything is, when they put it there, and how they placed it. This is fine if you are working on a hobby, but we're talking DESTINY here people, so we have to clean that up!!!

Organization is the foundation for success in any area, so it is imperative that your find a way to organize your life so that you give yourself space to begin developing your dream.

What I had to do is separate my work schedule from my business schedule, writing schedule, family schedule, etc, and literally map out what blocks of time I will work on each area. We run the risk of frustration, stress, and failure when we just try to put everything in the pot and see what boils up first. We have to be intentional in our work otherwise we will not be effective! SO organization of your time, your activities, and focus is paramount if you're going to be successful in your endeavor.

SO here is an Organization exercise...Get your Journal ((I like to use the Steno Pads that flips from top to bottom.)) and on each separate page write the heading of the major areas of your life: Family, Ministry, Business, Work, Books, etc. After you've identified each major area, begin listing your responsibilities within each area so that you can force your mind to focus on one given area at a time. As you write things down don't try to put them in a certain order, just brain dump. As you are writing you'll notice that you will start to feel clear and peaceful, this is what I call attaining mental & soulish clarity. This, if done correctly, will bring with it ideas, concepts, and solutions which is exciting within itself!

So, Step one is Organization, Step 2 is Prioritization..and we'll go over that tomorrow!!! Happy Organizing everyone!!

Balancing on The Tight Rope of Life!

Well Family, Im Back! After Some Months of trying to figure out my new schedule, I've FINALLY Found BALANCE.!!

I believe balance is PARAMOUNT in our pursuit of the Dream, Destiny, and Goals that God has placed in our hearts.

While the World encourages the goal oriented person to "Get RICH & DIE trying", The WORD persuades us to take the road less traveled and "COMMIT our WAY to the Lord and HE will cause our thoughts to be established" ((Prov 16:3)). Which indicates we should have a peaceful, yet confident trust that our plans, goals, dreams, hopes, prayer requests will be established when we put it ALL in God's Hands and give Him Ownership and Intellectual Responsibility for our every move!

I believe this Is God's design for all people! He wants to be the focal point of every strategic move in our lives! There are COUNTLESS scriptures in Proverbs that support this idea, so in your personal time...be sure to go and study these out!

FINDING balance in this life is not always easy. ESPECIALLY In my world!! On my plate I have a Growing Family, Ministry, Businesses both Traditional & Networking, Writing for Magazines, Mentoring & Coaching, and ALL it takes to manage of that SANELY & EFFECTIVELY, I can tell you balance was very hard to find and sometimes still is!!! But I DID and Ill be spending this week laying out exactly what I've found out and continue to find out!!

SO I pray that you'll join me tomorrow morning as I lay out the FIRST step in catching and KEEPING your balance as the MULTI-OPERATIONAL, MULTI-FUNCTIONAL, BUSY person that you are in the "TIGHT ROPE of Life"...Because lets face it...If YOU don't fulfill your destiny...Your "missing the mark" is likely to cause a domino effect in your life, your family line, and in the lives of the people you were supposed to impact!

EVERY idea, EVERY plan, & EVERY dream that is God inspired has a purpose and a person attached to it, so walk with me through this week as we find our balance on this road to our destiny together!

Until Tomorrow...Keep Running!

So Im saying the same thing...its 2012..and GUESS what....."We He-UH"..

View the video  below on what my theme for 2012 is...I look forward to seeing you in the days to come...

Remember, as long as you're Running after God, you're running in the right direction!!!

2012: Your Year of BREAKTHROUGH or BREAKDOWN~ You be the judge

Wow, 2012 RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!!!

What do you Think about that?! Are you AMPED, PUMPED, NERVOUS, EXCITED, CONCERNED, or ANTICIPATING Something GREAT?

Every New Year brings with it many questions and of course…. resolutions, “Is THIS year going to be like LAST Year?, I wonder if I can Lose the weight FOR REAL this year? Im Gonna Save $10,000 by the end of the year! Im gonna get a Raise this year! Im gonna kick the habit this year!”

You will hear all of these things in the following weeks. Jan 1 will find people racing to the Gyms, Signing up for 30 week seminars on Financial Success, getting up and praying, eating that nice little salad with a teaspoon of ranch dressing….All for the sake of a decision and a dream to look better, feel better, and live in comfort.

Well, there is nothing wrong with these resolutions or goals. The only thing wrong is that about 2 weeks later, the treadmills at the gym will be free, that 30 week seminar will reschedule multiple times due to “no shows” and the savings account that the person started is in the negative due to an “emergency situation”.
What’s wrong with this picture? Well, Ill tell you because I was one of those people who MADE a Decision to lose weight, save more, spend less,  and eat right, but I didn’t MANAGE that Decision.

Here’s what I mean…

Making a Decision is easy, everyone makes them whether right or wrong, but MANAGING a Decision requires a few words that I used to DETEST which are: PLAN, WORK, DICIPLINE, and CONSISTENCY. These factors make a GOAL a Reality!

I was a person who wanted things to work themselves out, I didn’t want to sweat, I didn’t want to have to press. I wanted to “prime the pump” of weight loss with my temporary discomfort of running that mile, and then sit on the couch and watch the fat melt off…Well CLEARLY that didn’t happen.
This past year has taught me to PLAN ahead, which deals with literally THINKING through my intent of execution and asking myself “How is this going to happen?” It’s not enough just to write a Goal down, you have to think through its execution and the steps you WILL Take to get there.

WORK is a Dirty word to many people. Many believe that after you get saved that God is going to rain down manna from heaven every morning with a side of Orange Juice. Guess what…Its NOT going to happen! You have to WORK! The Bible says in 2 Thessalonians 3:10 “if a man doesn’t work He doesn’t EAT!”  Meaning that, if I don’t WORK, I will NOT Produce, and What I Do NOT Produce, I Cannot ENJOY! Proverbs 14:23 Says this “IN ALL Labor, There is PROFIT, but mere TALK leads to Poverty”. SO THAT Scripture ALONE brings more clarity to WORK! As long as you WORK hard, there is SOME SORT of Benefit attached to it, but do NO Work and Regret will be your companion!

Discipline is the ability to CONSISTENTLY ENFORCE OBEDIENCE! This means I have to develop the mental and physical strength to DO SOMETHING That IM Not NECESSARILY EXCITED about doing at the moment!

THIS is something that is PARAMOUINT!

Many People lack results because they lack discipline! If you DEVELOP Discipline in 2011 and carry it over into 2012 YOU WILL BE AMAZED at your OWN Results, but you HAVE to be consistent! John 8:31 paraphrased says “…If you CONTINUE in my word, Then are you my Disciples.” Disciple, in short, means “learner, follower, devotee, or disciplined one”, so we see here that the key to being disciplined is CONTINUING, which leads me to my last point.

CONSISTENCY is the act of continuing doing something over and over again until the desired result appears! This is a tricky one, because you can persist at working out, lose 10lbs of your 30lb goal and STOP because you feel good! You CANNOT do this in 2012! Your body and goals are not a YO YO, so stop PLAYING with it!

You WILL hit your goals this year if you commit to these few things and I GUARANTEE you will LIVE in the reality of your dreams and Eat the Fruit of your labor. The practice of these principle will PROVE to be the determining factors of 2012 being your Year of BREAKDOWN or BREAKTHROUGH!
SO raise your Apple Cider and TOAST to 2012!!!

60 days to Get Er DONE!

Hello ALL!

I Know I haven't written in about a week! I have been taking a breather from everything and putting everything back in order. You know... when you change seasons you have to get the proper attire out to start the new season, and many times it takes time.

During this "wardrobe change" I've been really putting everything in perspective that I need to make a serious impact on my generation. I have counted the cost for certain things, I know what it is going to take, I understand the sacrifice it requires and I STILL believe that I will ABSOLUTELY hit my Goal 100%.

I trust that this blog will inspire you to do the same as we close out this year! There are ONLY 60 DAYS to Go! What is it that you wanted to accomplish in 2011 that is STILL left undone? What Goal is still left unattained? What relationships still haven't formed? What Mindset hasn't been developed? What is it that you've lost that you haven't recovered? The CLUTTER is CLOUDING The CLARITY!

One of the Greatest things that Ive learned in life is the ability to seek God. When I first came to an understanding of this, I asked myself "what does it mean to 'seek Him, is He Hiding'" I quickly came to  realization that God is not hiding, but rather our circumstances have clouded out His Presence in our lives and The CLUTTER of Life is CLOUDING The CLARITY you need!!!

And THIS is why we MUST Seek Him..

Day in and day out our minds and hearts are filled with things we have to do, things we didn't do, meetings, schedules, opportunities, projects, and sermons that if we are not careful the cares of this world will drown out our relation to God, and consequently we find ourselves going through the motions of life without the reverence or guidance of God nor His Spirit. Its almost like we're on autopilot and we are aimlessly trucking through life trying to "make it happen", when all God asks us is to Seek Him....

Its much like you looking for your lost keys! You search EARNESTLY because the keys that you have lost are VITAL to you getting to the place you need to Go. SO you tear your house apart, thinking in your mind "Where Are they?" You may get a little agitated because you feel as though you should've been more careful! You search in the closet...not there...You look in all the drawers in the kitchen..not there...you look under the couch...not there...you look IN the couch...not there...you look all under the mail you have stacked on your counter...not there...you look EVERYWHERE...but you just cant seem to FIND your keys...when all the while they were RIGHT in your hand!

Much like this process, Seeking GOD is removing the clutter out of your heart to TRULY Hear His Voice. Seeking Him is to search through His Word to find the answer to the unrest in your soul. Seeking Him is Removing the Clutter, noise, and distractions out of your life so that you can TRULY hear with Clarity what He has been speaking to you! SEEKING HIM LAUNCHES YOU INTO A WORLD OF COMPLETE PEACE...because when You FIND Him....you'll realize He was MUCH Closer than you EVER Imagined!

So today, I want to challenge you to take your lunch hour and give your lunch money to a church, ministry, your favorite charity, or just randomly bless someone...and choose to give your lunch hour to Him...to Seek HIM, so that you can get the clarity that you need! I PROMISE you WILL NOT regret the time you give up, to seek Him earnestly! You don't really need to say much...just in your heart allow Him to speak to you!

If you are Up for the challenge comment on this post and if you want to share your experience feel free to email me at torrianscott@runningafterdestiny.com, Id love to hear!

Celebrating NEWNESS of Life

WOW! So I'm gonna be a Daddy of a Little Girl! My Heart is RACING with excitement, Joy, Enthusiasm, and OVERWHELMING Fulfillment! I GET to Father a Daughter!!! WOW! WHAT a TRUE Blessing! God is JUST That GOOD!

There is something so amazing about when a newborn comes into the world (or is about to, in this instance). It allows you to reevaluate a lot of things in your own personal life. Thoughts of "How will she look (Beautiful I know..because He mother is GORGEOUS), What will she be like? What will be her talents, gifts, and call? What type of personality will she have?" So Many thoughts fill my mind as I imagine me coming home and two of my babies running to the door excited as they shout with endearment, "Daddy Daddy!" Her first step, our first Father Daughter Date, Her Graduation, Her Marriage to a...*SLAMS The BRAKES* Hold on....She's not even here yet...LOL....Its all good though..you get my drift!

*Sigh*

I'm so overjoyed you all! I know this blog had nothing to do with helping you get to the finish line! But if I could say anything...it would be this...

Take the time to REALLY cherish what you have! I feel like God has really blessed us with SO much and sometimes we take it for granted because we may not be where we "think" we should be. But this is the amazing thing about God...We are NOWHERE where he doesn't WANT US to be! SO Celebrate the newness of life in your world! It maybe a new challenge, a new project, a new business opportunity, a new way to reach this next generation, but in ALL things Give thanks, and if you don't have anything readily identifiable to thank God for...thank Him for the ability to be breathing HIS breath in this day we call Today!

So I hope you are still running! Thank you for Celebrating the life of my lil princess who is growing inside my Beautiful wife! (That rhymed :o) )

Love you all...Keep Running!
