Tragedy of Complacency

There is a Tragedy in all of our live that is inevitable if we don't do something about it. It is the ever present enemy of lethargy, apathy, slothfulness...rather known as COMPLACENCY...

Due to our modern understanding and adoption of convenience, we tend to let our minds wander into this deep abyss of stagnation and rarely see the results we dream of.

Convenience has plagued our generation and world; We see an ever increasing amount of convenient stores, Drive through Coffee spots, Hamburger places, everything is in arms length. Although this model is extremely comfortable and easy, there is a danger in only consuming the things that are convenient.

Lets think about it...you rarely find a drive through that you can get a well balanced meal at that serves all of the portions you need, the nutrients you should consume, and at a convenient price. The Majority of these places tend to be restaurants that you actually have to find a parking space, get out of your car, lock your car, go inside, wait for seating, wait for the waiter, order, wait for the food, and finally begin eating...

I submit to you that the things that are the most inconvenient are the things that add great benefit to your life!

It is the absolute plan of the enemy to keep you bound to this place of complacency and to blame everyone but yourself for the lack of results and impact that you know that you can achieve..

Complacency is an enemy that can be beaten with your commitment to discipline: Which is enforced obedience (Definition by Bishop IV Hilliard).

Make a decision that this day will not be another day that you allow comfort to rob you of the greatness inside of you. There is a successful author, business man, family person, pastor, leader, student, etc inside of you... you would see him/her if you would only tear from under the comforter of complacency...

What are YOU WAITING FOR?!

The Holy Spirit Whispered something to me this morning and it was this…What are you Waiting For…

Sometimes we are victimized by our own misconceptions and imaginations in accomplishing a certain goal. We wait until all of our “I’s” are Dotted and
T’s” Crossed in order just to start something. There are two types of people, Hearers and Doers. Hearers take in everything that they are inspired by that is being said, researched, or realized. They have intentions of doing but their motivation rarely turns into mobility. If by chance their motivation moves into action, it is only harnessed until new information stimulates them on a different path.

Then there are the doers. You expect me to praise the doer for his/her ability to transform information into application, but I'm not. While they can be praised for doing so, many times the downfall of a “Doer” can be lack of hearing full instructions before they move. The anticipation of attaining the goal many times overtakes the doer and he jumps the line of scrimmage before the proper time.

So the remedy is balance. Balance should be the goal of every person, whether they are innately a hearer or doer. Balance in the proper perspective will keep you focused on what needs to be done and when. There is nothing off balance about starting Now….What are you waiting for…What are your goals…Financial Success and organization…a Healthy Lifestyle… a more fulfilling relationship? There is nothing hindering you, but your own inability to take the first step and that my friend is called procrastination…

Procrastination a barrier to success and chokes the life out of effective behavior and short circuits total fulfillment. Procrastination does nothing but hinder you from moving forward or even starting the process of what you’re going after.

It may be that weight goal that you have been putting on and off throughout the years, and finally you get the motivation to do something about your weight in the middle of the week, and immediately your mind begins to drift towards Monday, the infamous Restart Date on many people’s goals. Why not NOW! Why don’t we start the things that we desire to go after now?

The average person waits for everything to be perfect in order to begin a thing, but success is not birthed on the perfect day, it’s birthed when you begin. Whether that be 2 minutes from now, 1 second from now, or even after you read this blog.

Choose today to no longer be a victim to your own imagination of what you think it takes to begin…STOP thinking about it and JUST GO!!! There’s a-whole-nother world waiting for you…
