Balancing on The Tight Rope of Life: Prioritization

Okay, so we've locked down the Organization part of finding that balance. Now the 2nd thing we'll hash out is how to actually execute those areas!!!

This comes about in the principle of Priority! Prioritizing the various areas in your life is very key if you are going to succeed at anything!!!!

Most people can get through their day without prioritizing, but the long tern effect of it all is that there was probably some effect of frustration and confusion, and that produces procrastination because everything seems so overwhelming. But prioritizing your time and day comes in handy when pursuing balance. Because lets face it...no one wants to go through their day not accomplishing the major tasks on their list nor get to the end of their life and say "I spent all my time focusing on things that didn't really matter, I should've spent more time on the things and with the people that matter the most."

Prioritizing is a GAME CHANGER for ALL Destiny Runners! WHY Because it puts you above the MAJORITY of people who are stuck in a rut trying to figure out life, purpose, and success. You would be surprised at the amount of people who literally go throughout the day being reactive rather than proactive, meaning that they respond to the problem rather than having a pre-meditated answer to the problems that they may face...but that is a different blog...back on track...

SO..You have your Life List written down somewhere, now what you have to do is start placing them in order in the sequence of Most important to not so important. The way you qualify your priorities is a few ways, here they are:
1. How will this affect my life and my family TODAY?
2. How may people are associated with THIS particular task (10s, 50s, 100s, 1000s?)
3. When and what time do I have to get this ACCOMPLISHED?
4. If I am being graded on PRODUCTION and not just BUSYNESS..what grade would I give myself?
5. WHat is the most IMPORTANT & VITAL to my position, my business, project.

A conglomerate of things go into qualifying priorities, but these should get you thikning about what is most important. I had to qualify the importance of certain tasks to the areas of my goals within my life because if I didint, I would always push something back in efforts to find the time to get to it...but the reality is that YOU'll NEVER find the time..you have to MAKE it...and Organization & Prioritization gets you started on catching your balance on the Tight Rope of Life!

Balancing on the Tight Rope of Life: Organization

If you're anything like me, you know that sometimes the responsibilities of life can put a real strain on your free time to work on special projects that you may be inspired with from time to time, hence making it a struggle sometimes to give yourself the space and flexibility to execute successfully. I call this the tight rope because life can make you feel like you're the tightrope walker at your local circus: high expectations from customers, team members, employers, family, members etc, limited runway in many cases, and a heavy load to carry. It can get overwhelming, but the key is balance!!!!

Balance is defined by dictionary.com as "the state equilibrium and the equal distribution of weight."

SO through this week this is what we will strive to develop...a state of equilibrium throughout your areas of responsibility, influence, and projects you are working on...so lets dig in...

The first and most important key in finding balance is ORGANIZATION. Most people settle for working in "organized chaos" where everything is out of order, but it's THEIR order, so they have an understanding of where everything is, when they put it there, and how they placed it. This is fine if you are working on a hobby, but we're talking DESTINY here people, so we have to clean that up!!!

Organization is the foundation for success in any area, so it is imperative that your find a way to organize your life so that you give yourself space to begin developing your dream.

What I had to do is separate my work schedule from my business schedule, writing schedule, family schedule, etc, and literally map out what blocks of time I will work on each area. We run the risk of frustration, stress, and failure when we just try to put everything in the pot and see what boils up first. We have to be intentional in our work otherwise we will not be effective! SO organization of your time, your activities, and focus is paramount if you're going to be successful in your endeavor.

SO here is an Organization exercise...Get your Journal ((I like to use the Steno Pads that flips from top to bottom.)) and on each separate page write the heading of the major areas of your life: Family, Ministry, Business, Work, Books, etc. After you've identified each major area, begin listing your responsibilities within each area so that you can force your mind to focus on one given area at a time. As you write things down don't try to put them in a certain order, just brain dump. As you are writing you'll notice that you will start to feel clear and peaceful, this is what I call attaining mental & soulish clarity. This, if done correctly, will bring with it ideas, concepts, and solutions which is exciting within itself!

So, Step one is Organization, Step 2 is Prioritization..and we'll go over that tomorrow!!! Happy Organizing everyone!!

Keep Running

Balancing on The Tight Rope of Life!

Well Family, Im Back! After Some Months of trying to figure out my new schedule, I've FINALLY Found BALANCE.!!

I believe balance is PARAMOUNT in our pursuit of the Dream, Destiny, and Goals that God has placed in our hearts.

While the World encourages the goal oriented person to "Get RICH & DIE trying", The WORD persuades us to take the road less traveled and "COMMIT our WAY to the Lord and HE will cause our thoughts to be established" ((Prov 16:3)). Which indicates we should have a peaceful, yet confident trust that our plans, goals, dreams, hopes, prayer requests will be established when we put it ALL in God's Hands and give Him Ownership and Intellectual Responsibility for our every move!

I believe this Is God's design for all people! He wants to be the focal point of every strategic move in our lives! There are COUNTLESS scriptures in Proverbs that support this idea, so in your personal time...be sure to go and study these out!

FINDING balance in this life is not always easy. ESPECIALLY In my world!! On my plate I have a Growing Family, Ministry, Businesses both Traditional & Networking, Writing for Magazines, Mentoring & Coaching, and ALL it takes to manage of that SANELY & EFFECTIVELY, I can tell you balance was very hard to find and sometimes still is!!! But I DID and Ill be spending this week laying out exactly what I've found out and continue to find out!!

SO I pray that you'll join me tomorrow morning as I lay out the FIRST step in catching and KEEPING your balance as the MULTI-OPERATIONAL, MULTI-FUNCTIONAL, BUSY person that you are in the "TIGHT ROPE of Life"...Because lets face it...If YOU don't fulfill your destiny...Your "missing the mark" is likely to cause a domino effect in your life, your family line, and in the lives of the people you were supposed to impact!

EVERY idea, EVERY plan, & EVERY dream that is God inspired has a purpose and a person attached to it, so walk with me through this week as we find our balance on this road to our destiny together!

Until Tomorrow...Keep Running!

View the video  below on what my theme for 2012 is...I look forward to seeing you in the days to come...
